Money and mental health
Information for individuals:
Cost of living pressures can affect our mental health and wellbeing, making us feel stressed, anxious or low. Talk to friends and family about how you’re feeling. There are local organisations that can also help, and it’s important to look after your own wellbeing.
Bristol City Council has developed a resource to help residents with the cost of living; you can find useful websites, community organisations, advice and guidance here: bristol.gov.uk/costofliving.
Information for professionals:
Problems with money and mental wellbeing go hand in hand and we are working with partners to improve the support given to residents. The advice sector is supporting staff to develop their knowledge and skills around mental health. There is also a project to equip public-facing staff and volunteers in a wide range of organisations to have conversations around money and other issues.
